Talavera Day of the Dead (DOD) sculptures are vibrant, handcrafted Mexican ceramic figures featuring intricate, hand-painted, and colorful designs, often produced in Guanajuato or Puebla. They combine traditional, high-quality, two-clay, hand-painted, and two-fired techniques with artistic representations of death, such as painted skulls or skeleton motifs, often showing high attention to detail in their, for instance, bright, contrasting, and, in some, even whimsical, floral or, for example, geometric, patterns.
