"See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" originates from a 17th-century Japanese maxim, famously carved above a stable door at the Tōshō-gū shrine in Nikkō. The three monkeys—Mizaru (blind), Kikazaru (deaf), and Iwazaru (mute)—represent a Buddhist philosophy of refusing to dwell on evil thoughts, words, or actions. These unique resin figures are nicely detailed and each piece stands a generous 23cm tall.
